It must be about 15 years since I last saw Alan in concert in the UK and I’ve just about given up hope of his being in the country where and when I can get to the gig, so I’ve bitten the bullet and arranged myself a two-days-early birthday present – 11th November, Le Nouveau Casino, Paris; gives me the chance to fill the car with fine Bordeaux wine on the way home too (or should that be good Breton cider?)

I hope you found some good breton wine (muscadet for exemple) from the far south (Nantes region);

Unfortunately no Breton wine this time; France was closed on the 12th. We managed to get a few cases of reasonable Bordeaux from a wine warehouse near Calais but no Muscadet. Perhaps an excuse for another trip to France.
